MAKING MOVES! G4 WILL BECOME ESQUIRE CHANNEL IN 2013
News broke on The Hollywood Report, cable television channel G4 will be undergoing a major change as they emerge with print publication brand Esquire and birth Esquire channel in early 2013. The NBCUniversal network is set to appeal to the metrosexual and its untapped resource thus the reason for the name change. A former gaming network, the cable network closed a deal with Esquire parent, Hearst Corporation, and intends to court an upscale viewership that they feel is currently underserved. New programming is already in development and will focus on the genres that other male-centric channels, such as Spike, have failed to provide for men. They include: cooking, travel, fashion and, in keeping with tradition, some gaming as well. There is no official date of the new channel but is scheduled for early 2013.
