KABOOM! MAGAZINE.COM TOP 10 PEOPLE OF THE WEEK
They kept are eyes glued to the TV scene, gave us something to talk about all day on social media, and their lives help us get through a grueling school or work week. But which celebs had the best week of them all? Today, Kaboom! Magazine.com starts a brand new feature entitled “Top 10 People of the Week.” Each week, Kaboom! will pick 10 celebs, athletes, entertainers, or regular people who we feel had the best week of them all. With the VMAs being held last week, the beginning of college football season, and surprising new music coming from out of no where, expect this week Top 10 to showcase some pretty wild characters. Robin Thicke-Paula Patton-VMA 10. Robin Thicke He has the No. 1 album in the country, the No. 1 single in the country, and all the ladies want him. Entering in at No. 10, Robin Thicke had the best and most controversial week of his career when he had wild child Miley Cyrus join him on stage for a risqué performance during the 2013 MTV VMAs. Before the VMAs, Thicke debut his new music video “Give It 2 U” featuring 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar. The R&B singer also ended up in the news for getting his hands caught in the social media cookie jar touching a fans butt at an VMA afterparty that he and his wife Paula Patton attended. Smooth as a cucumber, Thicke ignored the backlash and took a family vacation in Miami. You get to grab a fans a** and see Paula Patton in a swimsuit all in the same week….you’re winning. selena-gomez-2013-espy-awards-03 9. Selena Gomez Coming in fine at No. 9 is singer/actress Selena Gomez. Gomez opened the 2013 MTV VMAs earning her 1st Moon Man ever as her music video “Come & Get It” won Best Pop Video. After the VMAs, Selena crossed over from music to movies as she flew to Hollywood to attend the premiere of her new action film “Getaway.” Gomez is making a very smooth transition from Disney child star to successful adult career. music-mtv-vma-2013-20 8. Austin Mahone Shooting for the stars at No. 8 is YouTube sensation Austin Mahone. Austin threw his own coming out party this week, as his music video “What About Love” won the award for Artist To Watch at 2013 MTV VMAs. Later on that week, Mahone ultimate dreams came true when he signed a record deal with Cash Money Records. Expect Austin to probably make this list a lot for the remainder of the year, as he is currently in the process finishing up his debut album set to be released this fall. eminem-4-500x306 7. Eminem What a surprise! No. 7 has spent a decade shocking us in one way or another, so this shouldn’t come as such of a surprise. There have been rumors all year long that Eminem has been in the studio working on new music. This week, those rumors became reality when Em shocked everyone with a new commercial during the VMAs announcing that his next studio album “Marshall Mathers 2 LP” will be released on Nov. 5th. Also this week, Slim Shady released his new single entitled “Berzerk” an 80s rap tribute to Beastie Boys late MC “MCA.” Em also shocked us by bringing back the trademark blonde hair in the new “Beats by Dre” headphone commercial. Jay Z and Justin Timberlake ruled the summer of 2013, but even with fall around the corner I think Eminem just warming up. 1377847319000-USATSI-7405933 6. Derek Carr The college football season began on Thursday night and no one had a better opening night performance than No. 6 on our list Fresno State’s Derek Carr. Against Rutgers, the senior quarterback completed 52 passes for 465 yards and 5TDs in a 52-51 overtime victory. If winning against a BCS team wasn’t enough, the new father received great news when he got to take his newborn son Dallas home for the first time after a 23 days in the hospital due to an illness. friday_night_smackdown_daniel_bryan_is_not_the_weak_link_season_15 5. Daniel Bryan Randy Orton did 5 years ago, then CM Punk became this era pop icon 3 years ago, now the new “It” wrestler in the WWE is No. 5 Daniel Bryan. Following in Orton and Punk footsteps, Bryan defiance against WWE boss Vince McMahon has been must-see TV for the WWE universe. Whether it’s spraying “Yes” 30 times on a brand new Escalade or putting on great 30 minute matches against The Shield and Ryback like he did this week on Raw and SmackDown; Daniel Bryan has us all believing that he is the best right now in the WWE. 1377979702000-USATSI-7408752 4. Johnny Manziel Swag surfing his way to No. 4 on our list is the new Brian Bosworth of college football Mr. Johnny Manziel. Johnny Football summer of fun came with a small price when the NCAA suspended the Texas A&M quarterback for half of a game in the season opener against Rice for an autograph scandal in which the NCAA found very little wrong doing. Manziel must of been listening to Rick Ross on the sidelines during the first half, because when he entered into the game in the 2nd half, the Rice defense couldn’t hold him back. Johnny played flawless completing 6 passes for 94 yards and 3 TDs. Manziel also made headlines for what he did after scoring drives and big plays during the game like throwing up dollar signs, making fake autographs gestures at Rice players, and talking trash earning a penalty by the refs, creating another cover story on sportscenter. Corporate America may not like his “Hip Hop” personality, but if you ask us….Versace, Versace, Versace! Kanye-West-Records-Black-Skinhead-Remix-with-Miley-Cyrus-00 3. Miley Cyrus The queen of twerking makes our list at No. 3 as she was defiantly the most talked about celebrity on social media this week. It all began when Miley Cyrus showed up to the 2013 MTV VMAs red carpet with the wildest hairdo of the night. Along with her wild hairdo, Cyrus turned the VMA stage into TwerkFest 2013 when she showed up on stage wearing almost nothing but two band-aids and twerking on anyone who was within two feet from her including Robin Thicke. Cyrus didn’t stop there as later that week she released two new tracks “Wrecking Ball” and “Twerk” featuring Justin Bieber. She also laid down some verses for Kanye West remix to “BlackSkinhead.” Miley left her best “Shock Moment” for last when she posted a photo on Instagram from her music video “23” where she is twerking in a custom made Michael Jordan outfit. Justin-Timberlake-VMAs-Moon-Man 2. Justin Timberlake Dressing up the No. 2 spot on our list is no other than Mr. Suit & Tie himself Justin Timberlake. After receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Timberlake turned the VMAs into his own personal showcase with a 20 min performance that included all his solo hits as well as a comeback performance by his former group NSYNC. Not only did Timberlake walk away with the Video Vanguard Award, he also took home 3 more VMAs including Video of the Year for “Mirrors.” Later in the week, Timberlake stayed in New York and did press promoting his new album set to be released on Sept. 30th. Justin also released a special promo video of the creation of the new album that only took 20 days to create. 69e2564a4cef4d1299cad19a406f1117-c4efd5c1446f44df8f8dcb38aa06ac61-10 1. Big Sean Leading the way this week at No. 1 is none other than Detroit HOF playa Big Sean. Sean sophomore album “Hall of Fame” was released on Tuesday and debuted to classic reviews with hit singles “Fire”, “Beware”, and “MILF.” Big Sean witty rhymes and hilarious catch phrases were the talk of all the radio stations and social media sites across the country. The rapper also performed at his album release party where he brought people like Kid Cudi and Juicy J. He also revealed this week, his brand new custom shoes courtesy of ADIDAS. Sean ended the week sneaking in a brand music video for his single “10 2 10.” AGREE WITH OUR LIST? THINK SOMEBODY ON THIS LIST SHOULD BE REPLACED? LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
