“WHO’S WHO OF 2013″ YEAR-IN-REVIEW: SINGER GT
The holiday season is upon us and that means 2013 is quickly coming to an end. In honor of 2013, Kaboom! Magazine.com is getting together some of our favorite musicians, actors, fashion designers, models, athletes, and entertainment personality for our “Who’s Who of 2013″ Year-in-Review feature. We will be asking some of our favorite celebs their favorite moments of 2013 and how they’re preparing for an more explosive 2014. Today, we got a chance to look back at 2013 with Singer/Songwriter GT. GT had a pretty busy 2013 as he wrote songs for some of music’s biggest artist and was featured in some of television’s biggest shows. Checkout some of GT’s thoughts on the year and what he is most looking forward to in 2014. Name: GT Age: 21 Current Location: Los Angeles, CA Occupation: Singer/Songwriter Twitter: @TheOfficialGT Instagram: @theofficialgt If you could define 2013 in one hashtag it would be…..: #Preparatory What was your biggest achievement of 2013: Being able to work with a few major producers and write for a few major artists. What is something that you wish you did in 2013: Made more music Best concert or sporting event you attended in 2013: Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience Tour. JT is pretty much my musical idol. So to see him live was one of the best learning experiences I have had this year. If you could leave one thing behind in 2013, it would be…..: Hesitation. When I want to do something, I’m gonna do it. Best Meal of 2013: Salmon, Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Bread. Nothing like a home cooked meal! Favorite Book of 2013: All You Need To Know About The Music Business. It helped me understand the business alot better, and in turn shaped alot of my goals and current mindset. Favorite Movie of 2013: I’ve seen so many movies this year that I can’t choose a favorite. The Way Way Back, World War Z, The Conjuring, Insidious 2. These are all my favorites of the year, so far. The Way Way Back was an incredible story, very touching and powerful. World War Z was just flat out fun to watch. The Conjuring was one of the best horrors I have seen in recent years, and i’m a huge horror fan. Insidious 2 was creepy, and written fantastically in my opinion. Favorite TV Show of 2013: Breaking Bad. Do I really need to say why? INCREDIBLE. Favorite Album of 2013: Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience”, Bruno Mars’s “Unorthodox Jukebox”, J. Cole “Born Sinner”. All for their own reasons. JT & Timbaland brought a new and original sound to the world with “The 20/20 Experience”. Bruno has one of the most genuine voices of any artist out right now, and he produces a sound no one else is really able to replicate. GT Black YBShoot Favorite Music Video of 2013: Eminem’s “The Monster” video is probably the most original and dopest video of the year. Favorite YouTube Video of 2013: There is a video called “The Bullying Experiment” that is probably my favorite. It shows two guys, one acting as a bully and another acting as a victim. These two go to random parts of a college campus and other various places and the bully starts bullying the victim in front of by-standers as a test. Will these by-standers intervene or will they accept and allow the bullying to take place? It’s a very powerful and informative video. Favorite Clothing Brand of 2013: I like a lot of different clothing brands. I am a big fan of independent and upcoming clothing brands. 10 Deep, Golden Hangar Co., Balmain among many others. If it looks good, i’ll wear it. Favorite Shoes of 2013: Supra Skytops (Black & Gold) Favorite Website of 2013: Probably Youtube. Not sure anyone in this day and age goes without using Youtube at least once a day. (Laughs) Favorite Technology of 2013: iPhone 5. Sadly is my life in the palm of my hand. I’ve written hundreds of songs in it just this year alone. Favorite Social Media of 2013: I would have to say Instagram is my favorite. And the fact that they added Video this year makes it 10 times better. Easy promotion! Favorite Charity of 2013: After Paul Walker’s recent passing (RIP) I saw a video of him and his Charity helping different cultures in different parts of the world, and they all were so passionate about it. I could feel that it was just right. Very inspiring. What are you most looking forward to in 2014: I’m mostly looking forward to what I will accomplish. Every year I accomplish more and more and this year, I feel I have most if not all of the assets that were missing in previous years to get exactly where I have been working to be. Why should we lookout for you in 2014: I will be doing some wonderful and game changing things in 2014. Not only on the music scene, but the acting scene as well and I have some big shows booked already. Words of Wisdom heading into 2014: What would you do if you knew you would not fail? DO IT! Happiness and success are both choices. It’s never too late. If you want it, go get it! Create your own opportunities. Create your own luck. Create your own happiness! Sunset Blazer 1 (Raw)
