The holiday season is upon us and that means 2013 is quickly coming to an end. In honor of 2013, Kaboom! Magazine.com is getting together some of our favorite musicians, actors, fashion designers, models, athletes, and entertainment personality for our “Who’s Who of 2013″ Year-in-Review feature. We will be asking some of our favorite celebs their favorite moments of 2013 and how they’re preparing for an more explosive 2014. Today, we got a chance to look back at 2013 with SL Pro Music Elliott M.C. Craken. Checkout some of Felicia’s thoughts on the year and what she is most looking forward to in 2014. Elliott M.C. Cracken 31 Bakersfield, CA Owner/Operator of SL Pro Music, LLC Twitter: @SLPROMUSIC If you could define 2013 in one hashtag it would be…..: #Blessed What was your biggest achievement of 2013: My biggest achievement was completing my first album, professionally recorded, mixed, and distributed. What is something that you wish you did in 2013: I wish had a performance with this new material. Several shows I was supposed to perform at fell apart. I can’t get mad at thing you can not control. 2014 it’s on! Best concert or sporting event you attended in 2013: I went to the CaliRoots festival in Monterey. My first Reggae festival. It was “highly” anticipated and lived up to the hype. Most Shocking Moment of 2013: the most shocking moment for me in 2013 was hearing both of my kids learn and constantly repeat one of my songs. My #1 request from my daughter is “Rock in My BLood”. Cracks me up to hear her sing along. If I could leave one thing behind in 2013 it would be….: Self doubt. I need to get over that already. Best Meal of 2013: The best meal I consumed in 2013 was a big bowl of Cioppino I had for my Birthday. Down at Phil’s fish market in Moss Landing (Just outside of Monterey), they make the best Cioppino and it come in a huge bowl. This time was the first time I finished the whole thing. It is one of those places that is super popular, and does not advertise at all. Its all world of mouth. If you like sea food, I STRONGLY recommend checking this place out. Favorite Book of 2013: I honestly did not do a lot of “Book” reading in 2013. More music tech and tutorial reading; as well as music business education stuff. Got to stay up on the latest techniques and gear. Favorite Movie of 2013: My favorite movie of 2013 was Gravity. I didn’t got to to many movies this year but I did catch Gravity in 3D and it was amazing (Story line was ok but the Effects were amazing). It really made you feel like you were looking at earth from outer space. And the first scene when Sandra Bulluck is spinning after getting dislodged from the space ship. I had to look away because the spinning was so real it made me nauseous. The effects are crazy in that movie with the 3D. 556815_542952629083348_871466524_n Favorite TV Show of 2013: My favorite TV show right now is still Game of Thrones. Sense it starts early in the year, it is one thing I am looking forward to in early 2014! Favorite Album of 2013: Besides my own Album, Out of the Dark, Into the Light (available now on iTunes), my Favorite album was the new Korn album. They brought back the old guitar sound that made them big in the early nineties. And with the re-union of Brian Head Welch, the band seems renewed. Favorite Music Video of 2013: Favorite Video of 2013 was either the Eminem’s Rap God, or Korn’s, Never Never. The visuals in both were crazy. Favorite YouTube of 2013: My favorite youtube video, and I hate that I can’t remember the name of it, is a video of a teenager playing his guitar; 2 guitars actually and singing a song. He basically played the bass lines with the low end strings on one guitar, and played the melodies with the high end strings on another guitar. This kid is crazy talented. He even added some slight percussion by banging on one of the guitars for certain parts. It blew my mind. Favorite Clothing Brand of 2013: My favorite clothing brand of 2013, is still my favorite from my skater days, DC shoe CO. Clothes were great, however they need to step up their shoe game… get back to the basics. Favorite Shoes of 2013: Favorite shoes of 2013, not that I’m a huge sneaker head, was some globe’s I picked up. They are super cool with the chronic green color with black and white. Fits the color theme of my record label perfectly. Favorite Website of 2013: Besides launching my website, SLPROMUSIC.com, my favorite website is backyardlyberty.com. They have a lot of good shif tips and survival information. Favorite Technology of 2013: My favorite technology of 2013, and it may have been around a year or two before, is a Plug-in for mixing music called NLS by Waves. It puts 3 legendary music mixing consoles from analog era into today’s digital era. Puts everything “in the mix” where they need to be. Favorite Social Media of 2013: Favorite Social media… although I am not the biggest on-line socialite I do like a lot of the “pages” in Facebook. I am a big fan of tattoos so I have like 8 tattoo pages that show me a lot of good art. I also am a big fan of all the meme’s that people put up. My favorite’s come from the NFL meme page. They are pretty hilarious. Favorite Charity of 2013: My favorite charity is probably the toys for tots drive that happens around holiday time. I was pretty blessed as kid growing up and I remember the excitement of the holidays and I feel it is important for all kids to have that childhood experience. So I try to contribute what I can each year. This year I supported the toys for tots drive through Abandon Ship Tattoo parlor. What are you most looking forward to in 2014: In 2014, I am most looking forward to promoting my album and performing this new material for the 1st time! I have made a huge step in 2013 by completing a project and now its time to hit the ground running with it! Words of Wisdom: Life is short and there is no time like the present. So make the most out of the cards you have dealt and play your hand smart! You never know when things and get worse or when life will hand you new obstacles. Slow progress is still progress…. baby steps are better then taking steps backwards. 1459882_671008979611045_2083229726_n
