VINE ARRIVES ON DESKTOPS

VINE ARRIVES ON DESKTOPS
Twitter’s video sharing service – Vine has now announced full web profiles for all its users. Vine was only available on mobile devices through an app, and now with web profiles Vine has expanded its service to the desktop platform, which lacked until this point. Vine for web is similar to that of its mobile counterpart. In addition to this, there is an exclusive desktop only feature called ‘TV Mode’. The TV Mode lets you watch videos in full screen on your computer. You can view videos, browse your home feed, like, comment and share videos. This is typically everything that can be done from the smartphone app except users will not be able to record and upload Vines from their PCs for now. Vine profile on web looks similar to what Instagram offers. It is not the full version, as you cannot record videos using your webcam and upload it. We expect Vine to roll out this functionality in future. Vine had announced plans to create web profiles late last year, and offered reservations for custom URLs ahead of the launch.
