9 REASONS WHY WE ALREADY LOVE “POWER”
9 Reasons Why We Already Love “Power” Summer has just started heating and Starz new series “Power” is already the talk of the summer. Known to many as the hottest new show of the year, the show executive produce by Hip-Hop mogul 50 Cent has already been renewed for a second season. The series follows James St. Patrick, nicknamed “Ghost”, owner of a popular New York City nightclub. In addition, he is a major player in one of the city’s biggest illegal drug networks. He struggles to balance these two lives, and the balance topples when he realizes he wants to leave the drug ring in order to support his legitimate business. In honor of the show’s early success, Kaboom! Magazine.com wants to tell you 9 different reasons why we can’t stop talking about “Power”. Here’s 9 reasons why we already love “Power”. starz-power-Omari_Hardwick-750x400 1. You gotta love the “Bad Guy” 1st 5 mins into the series premiere, you witness the main character “Ghost” watching his wildest dreams come true with the grand opening of his new nightclub “Truth”. Now at this point one can only imagine that Ghost is starting a new life and leaving his past behind him. That all ends two mins later when he is seen shooting a thief in the head with no remorse. The crazy thing about the main character who is played by Omari Hardwick, he so good at portraying an amazing guy that you will still think that about him even when he is being evil. Back in the 80’s, Scarface was immortalized by so many people because he was so evil that you couldn’t help, but wanna be him. Ghost has some of the same similar killer traits as Tony Montana, but he also a loving father, husband, and friend that makes fans wanna cheer for him even when he has to get his hands dirty. Society tells that the good will always triumph over evil and the superhero always saved the day. That may be true, but all can’t help but secretly root for the bad guy. power3 2. The Music With 50 Cent as an executive producer along, it’s no surprise that the show features some of the hottest music on TV. Mixing a special blend of Hip-Hop and EDM, “Power” features music from some of today’s hottest up and coming artists. Whether it’s Mack Wilds making everyone in the club feel like royalty with “Own It” or 50 Cent himself trying to get you to realize what power all about in NYC with the theme song “Big Rich Town”, every song on the show perfectly fits every scene. You can close your eyes and just listen to the songs on the episodes and know exactly what is going on. As the show progresses, viewers will hear new music….all courtesy of 50 Cent. power-review-ellen-gray 3. Truth Starz has gave us the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH! So help us god. You can’t help but love the nightclub scenes shot in “Power”. The upscale nightclub Truth has everything that you want in your favorite night spot. Top of the line bottle service, beautiful bartenders, amazing music, and the who’s who of NYC breaking down the door to get in. vuecover1tvf-1-web 4. Learning the Business If you’re trying to be the owner of the sexiest nightclub or trying to become the next Pablo Escobar; you can learn a lot by watching “Power”. New York City nightlife moves very fast and in order to succeed you will have to think even faster. Running your own crew in New York, you will have to be able to get your hands dirty and let everyone know that anyone is replaceable. The No.1 rule that everyone will learn from this show is that it’s alright to wanna be famous, but don’t lose yourself doing it. It’s level to this and fame can be addictive. Naturi-2-1401909808 5. Naturi Naughton Whether she taking care of her kids, partying in Truth, or being risqué in the back of the lac; Naturi Naughton steals almost every scene that she is in as Tasha St. Patrick. Tasha not your average stay at home mom, she is just as ambitious and power-hungry as Ghost is. She’s every bit as involved as he is in all facets of their lives, she even destroyed evidence if needed. She’s a very strong, ride-or-die, about-her-business type of chick. Her body is amazing, which probably is the reason she is completely naked in most of the episodes. 0b679d10-e042-11e3-8fe4-ed3ab2ee64f9_gallery_18_hires 6. 1967 Ford Mustang Super Snake Eleanor GT In a city that is known for it’s yellow cabs, it actually nice to see some American muscle in the concrete jungle. You rarely get to see Ghost’s right-hand man Tommy’s 1967 Ford Mustang Super Snake Eleanor GT throughout the series, but when you did, it manages to leave it mark. You can help but love the dark blue paint, the black leather interior, and the engine that you can hear start up from six blocks away. When you take that baby to the car wash you defiantly get a full detail clean. starz-power-3 7. The Mystery Man Everyone loves a series that always keeps you guessing. Just when you think you have figured everything out, something else happens that makes you more confused than you were before. Ghost and Tommy money routes are getting robbed and their delivers are in serious danger causing them to changes their routes and phones. Just when they think they are back in business, another one of their routes gets hit, causing them to believe that it is an inside job. The great thing about this so called “Mystery Man” is that we may never know who they are, which will have us glued to our television every Saturday night. Power-Joseph-Sikora-as-Tommy-Egan 8. Tommy Egan Tommy Egan has to be one of the most ruthless characters in TV history! Tommy is Ghost’s extremely loyal partner-in-crime, is played by actor Joseph Sikora. Sikora acts as Ghost’s go-to guy and the man who helped Ghost build his drug empire. He grew up on the rough streets of NYC alongside Ghost, so in his mind there is nothing that can tear them or what they’ve built apart. With a bond tight as ever, Tommy looks at Ghost as a brother, protecting Ghost and his family by any means. However for Tommy, the drug game is not just a way of making ends meet—it seems like an ultimate end. His empire with Ghost is his whole life, and he is willing to protect it at all costs and won’t let anything jeopardize the life that he’s worked so hard to maintain. Tommy, like Tasha, is fine with the way things are and is willing to unleash war on anyone who dares to step in their path. 4b48027c-0e05-46cd-bba5-4ecd34abe993 9. New York City Jackson grew up in the South Jamaica neighborhood in Queens and wanted Power to have that urgent, gritty vibe that only New York can offer. And shooting in the city adds an element that cannot be replicated. TELL US WHY YOU LOVE “POWER” BY LEAVING US A COMMENT! BE SURE TO WATCH “POWER” EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT ON STARZ AT 9PM

The Mustang is NOT a 1967 Ford Mustang Super Snake Eleanor GT…… It’s a 1969 PILLARLESS Coupe….. I have exactly the same car.
