They’ve kept our eyes glued to our TV screen, gave us something to talk about all day on social media, and their lives help us get through another grueling school or work week. But which celebs had the best week of them all? Today, Kaboom! Magazine.com lets you know who star shined the brightest this past week in “Top 10 People of the Week.” Each week, Kaboom! picks 10 celebs, athletes, entertainers, or regular people who we feel had the best week of them all. This week, our countdown is filled with some of record-setting performers, MITB star, and a pop icon claiming the No. 1 spot. jay-z-beyonces-on-the-run-set-to-be-second-highest-grossing-tour-ever-0-300x300 10. Jay Z & Beyonce Starting off the countdown this week is hip-hop version of Bonnie & Clyde. It’s no surprise that a tour featuring two of the most successful and beloved artists over the last fifteen or so years is doing well at the box office, but the fact that with only 20 shows announced Jay Z and Beyonce’s ‘On The Run’ tour is already on track to become the second highest grossing tour of all time is pretty amazing. According to Forbes, with the tour hitting an estimated $100 million in ticket sales, the husband and wife are currently looking at roughly a $5 million gross per show. 28ec095021c82c14bc92da3864ad601e_crop_north 9. Isaiah Austin Coming in at No. 9 on our countdown this week is former Baylor star center and NBA hopeful Isaiah Austin. The NBA honored former Baylor star Isaiah Austin with an honorary pick during Thursday’s 2014 NBA draft. Austin, who was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and forced to prematurely give up his dream of professional basketball, was called up to the stage by commissioner Adam Silver while the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Ever since receiving the devastating news that would keep him from the NBA, he has handled himself with unbelievable poise. Others might fall apart in a similar position, but Austin has revealed his fantastic character by being so open and positive. ChrisRock250314 8. Chris Rock The funniest man on the planet lands the No. 8 spot on our countdown this week….and for good reason. Last week, comedian Chris Rock got to do what he does best and that’s host award shows. Chris Rock poked fun at some headlines in the music world as he hosted the 2014 BET Awards which took place on Sunday, June 29. During his hosting gig, Rock mentioned some famous stories such as Jay-Z and Solange Knowles’ infamous elevator fight after the MET Gala in May, the popularity of TV series “Scandal” and racism controversy surrounding Donald Sterling. Lincecum55_crop_north 7. Tim Lincecum The No. 7 man on our countdown this week is a giant that proved he can still be the biggest giant of them all. Tim Lincecum’s days of dominance may be in the past. That doesn’t mean he can’t dial up flashes of the Freak he once was — especially against the San Diego Padres. Lincecum pitched his second no-hitter against the Padres in less than a year, allowing only one runner Wednesday and leading the San Francisco Giants to a 4-0 win. The right-hander with two NL Cy Young Awards became just the second pitcher in major league history to twice no-hit the same team. Hall of Famer Addie Joss did it for Cleveland against the Chicago White Sox with a perfect game in 1908 and a no-hitter in 1910. hi-res-4bee63aebd74977eb47502aa536f62a1_crop_north 6.John Cena THE CHAMP IS HERE! Ab-Soul-featuring-ScHoolboy-Q-Hunnid-Stax--300x300 5. Ab-Soul Coming at No. 5 on our countdown this week is a who got soul and is superbad. Following in the footsteps of Kendick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, TDE member Ab-Soul is the next one up to bat as his debut album “These Days” was finally released. Considered the hippiest Black Hippy, Ab-Soul debut album is overstuffed with ideas, sonic shout-outs, a variety of moods, cosmic musings, comic musings, Kendrick-like boasts (including one directly from Lamar), celebrity guests including the entire TDE roster, Rick Ross and Jhene Aiko — pieces and parts assembled from this crate and that located in very different parts of the metaphorical record store. mark-wahlberg-premiere-2-guns-01 4. Mark Wahlberg Transforming the countdown at No. 4 this week is none other than Boston native Mark Wahlberg. His new film “Transformers 4” became the highest-grossing debut of the year after domestically earning an estimated $100 million across the weekend. Internationally, the film nabbed $201.3 million from 37 territories with China contributing $90 million of it. A career-high for Wahlberg, it had an international earning that was a 35% uplift from the last installment, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, which was fronted by Shia LaBeouf. Opening in 150 IMAX screens also made up a record-breaking $10.7 million of the weekend grosses. nike-soccer-unveils-2014-u-s-national-team-away-kit-world-cup-1-750x500 3. USA Men’s Soccer Team The No. 3 members on our countdown this week have already exceeded any expectations on the world’s biggest stage. The United States reached the knockout stage of consecutive World Cups for the first time in world cup history. Germany beat the U.S. 1-0 on Thursday in soggy conditions on Thomas Muller’s 55th-minute goal to win Group G, but the Americans advanced as runners-up when Portugal defeated Ghana 2-1 in a game played simultaneously in Brasilia. In the round of 16, the U.S. will face Belgium at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday (ESPN/WatchESPN). “This is a huge huge step and now we can’t wait until round of 16,” U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said after the match. “Everyone said we had no chance, we took the chance and move on. And now we really want to prove a point.” nba_g_wiggg_cr_600x400 2. Andrew Wiggins He may not be No. 1 on our countdown this week, but he is Cleveland new No. 1 man. The Cleveland Cavs selected Andrew Wiggins at No. 1 overall in the 2014 NBA draft, it was a big night for Canada and Kansas. After making Canada the only country besides the U.S. to have consecutive No. 1 picks, Wiggins slipped on a maroon Cleveland hat, hugged his supporters and went on stage to shake hands with commissioner Adam Silver, who was calling the first round for the first time since replacing David Stern. Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel took to Twitter on Thursday night to welcome Wiggins. lana-del-rey-tropico-short-film-300x300 1.
