They’ve kept our eyes glued to our TV screens, gave us something to talk about all day on social media, and helped us get through another grueling school or work week. But which celebs had the best week of them all? Today, Kaboom! Magazine.com lets you know who star shined the brightest this past week in “Top 10 People of the Week.” Each week, Kaboom! picks 10 celebs, athletes, entertainers, or regular people who we feel had the best week of them all. This week, our countdown is filled with some of record-setting performers, a few first-timers, and a new princess of R&B claiming the No. 1 spot. dm_141011_ncf_missst_danmullen 10. Dan Mullen Breaking in the countdown at the No. 10 spot this week is the head coach of the hottest team in college football right now. Mississippi State is the new No. 1 in The Associated Press college football poll, replacing Florida State and making the fastest rise to the top spot in the history of the poll. The Bulldogs are the first team in the poll’s 78-year history to go from unranked to No. 1 in five weeks. The previous mark was six weeks by Ohio State in 1954. In Starkville, coach Dan Mullen took over in 2009 and has steadily turned around a program that was flailing. Mullen, the former Florida offensive coordinator under Urban Meyer, is 42-28 at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs were 23-48 in the six seasons before Mullen arrived. IMG_8300.JPG 9. Tyler James Williams This week, the No. 9 spot has been taken by a former child star that everyone used to literally love to hate. Everyone remembers Tyler for his starring role as the young Chris Rock in Rock’s comedy series, ‘Everybody Hates Chris’. But it was announced this week that Williams will be one of the newest additions to AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Williams’ character is named Noah Cruz. While there is no original character in the adapted comic book by Robert Kirkman. Many have confirmed a Noah Cruz in the comic’s video game adaption’s prequel, “The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct”. There isn’t any other news of Williams character or scheduled debut and longevity. Williams has been in the news recently for his amazing reenactment of another iconic television star, Family Matter’s Steve Urkle in the newest bonus comedy sketch piece of Comedy Central’s red-hot sketch show Key & Peele. The Uncensored segment has been Key and Peele’s most publicized piece to date in the show’s four season. Katy Perry Coming in at No. 8 on the countdown this week is a woman who getting ready to perform on the world’s biggest stage. The NFL has reportedly decided on who will be headlining the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show. Katy Perry is being confirmed as the main performer at the big event scheduled for February next year. Last weekend, Perry responded to the pay-to-play idea when she appeared on ESPN’s “College Game Day”. The “Roar” hitmaker said, “I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl.” Last year’s Super Bowl featured headliner Bruno Mars and guest Red Hot Chili Peppers. The ex-country singer, who was also named Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2011, becomes the first act to have earned the title twice. She will be honored at Billboard’s 9th annual Women in Music Awards event in New York on December 12. Swift has collected 7 Grammy Awards and 15 American Music Awards during her career. She has so far released four albums that have sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S. Most recently, she topped Billboard Hot 100 with “Shake It Off”, the first single from her upcoming LP “1989″ which is coming out on October 27. "Green Lantern" Los Angeles Premiere - Red Carpet 6. Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively The couple featured in the No. 6 spot this week will soon become first time parents. Blake Lively is expecting her first child with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The star of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” took to her lifestyle website, to announce the happy news. Blake shared the first shot of her blooming baby bump in a gorgeous photo taken by her brother Eric Lively. Blake and Ryan, who tied the knot in September 2012 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, have not been shy about voicing their expectation of having children together. Joe Flacco Joe Flacco became the fastest player since the NFL-AFL merger to throw five touchdowns in a game, and the Baltimore Ravens routed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48-17. Flacco’s five not only matched the most touchdown passes by a Ravens quarterback in the team’s 19-year existence, but it also marked a personal high for Flacco. Flacco threw touchdowns on the first five drives of the game for 15, 9, 17, 19 and 56 yards. The most recent player to throw five touchdowns in one half was Peyton Manning, who did it in the second half of the 2013 season opener against the Ravens. Gambino just recently treated fans some new music courtesy of his new mixtapes “STN MTN” and “Kauhi” highlighted by his new single “Sober.” He also treated fans to a new music video this past week when he released “Telegraph Ave. (Oakland by Lloyd)” featuring the very lovely Jhene Aiko. With a couple of new movies set to be released featuring his alter-ego Donald Glover, Childish Gambino also announced this week that he will be starring in a new sci-fi film entitled “The Martian” comic-con-the-walking-dead-season-5-unveiled 2. Andrew Lincoln Making a comeback on the countdown this week at No. 2 is “The Walking Dead” star Andrew Lincoln. “The Walking Dead” just premiered their high anticipated season 5 which was focused on Lincoln character Rick Grimes trying to lead his group of friends out of the terminus. This past week, AMC had renewed “The Walking Dead” for a sixth season before the fifth season even started. “The Walking Dead” has become one of the most successful shows on television. It remains a number one show in the key adults 18-49 demo and is still the highest-rated show in cable history.
