The holiday season is upon us and that means 2014 is quickly coming to an end. In honor of 2014, Kaboom! Magazine.com is getting together some of our favorite musicians, actors, fashion designers, models, athletes, and entertainment personality for our annual “Year-in-Review” feature. We will be asking some of our favorite celebs their favorite moments of the year and how they are preparing for an explosive 2015. Today, we get the chance to catch up with Grammy nominated Singer/Songwriter Kay Cola. She was one of the biggest artist on the rise in 2014 and today she tells us why 2015 will be the biggest year of her already impressive career. The Kardashians What is the most valuable lesson you learned in 2014? Self love is the key. When you love yourself you are able to anything and everything with confidence and the light that that creates is infectious. What was your biggest achievement of 2014? My biggest achievement of 2014 was writing and recording my first album and writing and recording my first radio single What is something that you wish you did in 2014? I have no regrets Funniest thing you saw in 2014? It was on Instagram. This guy played the clarinet in his underwear while spinning around on a stripped pole playing Jason Derulo’s “Wiggle wiggle” Best concert or sporting event you attended in 2014, and why? I didn’t get to see many shows this year because I’ve been so busy with my project, I wish I had gone to coachella or any of the Kanye shows I know they were amazing. If you could leave one thing behind in 2014, it would be…..? Most shocking moments of 2014 have been the recent events in Ferguson concerning the Mike Brown case, and The verdict to not indict the cop in the Eric Garner case. If there was anything I could leave behind it would be police brutality, racism and hate toward any group of people. Best Meal of 2014? Best meal of 2014 was at Brenda’s French Soul Food in San Francisco. I had the shrimp and grits and a goat cheese omelette it was amazing. The food is so flavorful but it’s not too greasy and I believe they are all organic. Favorite Book of 2014? The Devil and Ms. Prym by Paulo Coelho. He’s my favorite author I literally have all of his books. It teaches you a lot about temptation and overcoming it and fighting inner demons. Also the art of love was amazing, I forget the author but it teaches you about the origin of love, why we crave love and why love is so important. Favorite Movie of 2014? The Lego movie because it was insanely hilarious but the deeper message was incredible! Favorite TV Show of 2014? The Walking Dead because I love zombies! Favorite Music Video of 2014? J Cole’s apparently because of the powerful message, it’s really needed right now. Favorite Shoes of 2014? Vans Favorite Website of 2014? Mine of course!
