CBS ORDERS “RUSH HOUR” SERIES PILOT

CBS ORDERS “RUSH HOUR” SERIES PILOT
CBS is moving forward with the small-screen adaptation of “Rush Hour”. The TV network has ordered a pilot for the one-hour action drama comedy series based on the blockbuster movie franchise starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. “Cougar Town” co-creators Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick are set to write and executive-produce the project. Brett Ratner who directed the movie will also be involved in the production along with Arthur Sarkissian and Jeff Ingold. Similar to the big-screen story, it will center on a by-the-book Hong Kong police officer who is assigned to a case in L.A., where he’s forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer who has no interest in a partner. Casting for the lead roles is still underway. CBS also revisits Greg Garcia’s “Super Clyde” after passing it over in 2013. Initially having “Harry Potter” alum Rupert Grint attached to play the main character, it follows a meek, unassuming fast-food worker who finds his calling. A pilot order is also given to comedy “Joe Time”. Hailing from Bill Wrubel (“Modern Family”), it revolves around a family man who struggles with the fact that everyone around him is pursuing their dreams and enjoying their lives more than he is.
