HARRISON FORD TO STAR IN “BLADE RUNNER” SEQUEL

HARRISON FORD TO STAR IN “BLADE RUNNER” SEQUEL
The untitled Blade Runner project is starting to shape up. Alcon Entertainment confirmed on Thursday, February 25 that Harrison Ford would reprise his character as Rick Deckard in the upcoming movie which will serve as the follow-up to 1982’s “Blade Runner”. The movie has also found replacement for director Ridley Scott. Denis Villeneuve is set to serve behind the camera. “We are honored that Harrison is joining us on this journey with Denis Villeneuve, who is a singular talent, as we experienced personally on ‘Prisoners’,” Alcon co-founders and co-CEO Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in a statement. “Hampton [Fancher] and Michael [Green], with Ridley Scott, have crafted a uniquely potent and faithful sequel to one of the most universally celebrated films of all time, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with this amazing, creative team.” The upcoming project, produced by Scott, Kosove and Johnson, is set a few decades following the events in the 1982 movie. Back in December, Scott told Yahoo! Movies that the script “is very, very good. Very good.” Production will start in summer. Villeneuve most recently worked with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2014’s “Enemy”. His next release “Sicario” starring Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin and Jon Bernthal is set to arrive in the U.S. on September 18.
