Nice Whips: Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA

Nice Whips: Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA

Unveiled in Frankfurt, The Concept EQA is Mercedes‘ first ever all-electric EQ C-segment concept car. It features two electric motors and an evolution in the automaker’s usual designs with less sharp edges and lines. Its system output is over 200 kW (272 PS) with an all-wheel drive, front to rear torque distribution. The concept car displays a spiral-shaped light signet and a black panel on the front that acts as a virtual radiator grille.

The grille changes according to the drive program; if it’s in “Sport” the panel shows a flaming wing, “Sport Plus” reveals a Panamericana grille reminiscent of their new GLE 63 model. The vehicle is meant to charge via induction or wall box and is also ready for rapid charging, which, depending on the battery capacity installed, offers a range of around 400 km (248 miles.)

“With the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA, our electric initiative is gathering pace: by 2022 Mercedes-Benz cars will have more than ten all-electric vehicles on the market,” stated Daimler boss, Dr Dieter Zetsche. The EQC is scheduled to come out of the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant in 2019 and based on the Concept EQ exhibited in Paris last year.
