Nice Whips: Porsche Mission E

Nice Whips: Porsche Mission E

After revealing the concept for the Porsche Mission E two years ago, the German auto manufacturer has shed some light on when we can expect to see the fully electric vehicle hit the road. CEO Oliver Blume told Car Magazine at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show that public testing of the car will be starting soon and the model that’s in production is “very close” to the two-year-old prototype. If everything goes according to plan, Blume says the Mission E will be available by the end of 2019 and will start at approximately $80,000.

If the reported specifications from two years ago still ring true, the 600 HP, 800-volt vehicle will be able to go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach up to 300 miles on a single charge. The vehicle’s rapid charge system will also allow the Mission E to reach 80 percent battery life in only 15 minutes.
