Comic Star Jerrod Carmichael Signs New Deal with 20th Century Fox TV
While it was announced earlier this Summer that NBC would be cancelling it’s black comedy, “The Carmichael Show” after three seasons. The show star Jerrod Carmichael will be back on TV in no time as it was announced today that he has signed a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV.

20th Century Fox TV is the studio behind The Carmichael Show. The new deal allows Carmichael to produce projects for the studio with longtime collaborator and producing partner Ari Katcher under his Morningside Entertainment banner. Carmichael will write, produce, supervise other writers, and potentially star in new projects for the studio.

20th Century’s President of Creative Affairs Jonnie Davis had this to say about signing the 30-year-old comic.

“Lucky for us, he said ‘yes.’ This is a guy whose inspiration is Norman Lear and it’s not hard to see why– he speaks about what’s happening in the world and he gets people talking even if the subject matter is uncomfortable. Oh, and he’s also hilarious. He’s an incredible talent and a ‘television savant’ and we’re thrilled he’s making 20th his exclusive home.“

Jerrod Carmichael got his break as a cast member of the Seth Rogan and Zac Effron hit comedy, “Neighbors”. Carmichael starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in the latest fifth installment in the Transformers franchise, “Transformers: The Last Knights” released back in June. Jerrod Carmichael also starred in the new Jay-Z video “Moonlight” along with fellow popular black comedic actors Issa Rae, Lil Rel, and Hannibal Burress.
