LG Introduces Rollable 65-Inch OLED TV

LG Introduces Rollable 65-Inch OLED TV

LG Display has been on a roll this CES, and to add to its announcements of a 4K HDR projector and world’s first OLED 88-inch 8K TV, comes a 65-inch OLED TV that rolls up like a poster. LG’s original 18-inch rollable display in 2016 has been developed further to include three and a half times more inches and full 4K resolution. The thin OLED screen rolls up and down like a projector screen and is currently being demonstrated at CES 2018‘s show floor.

Once a button is pressed on the remote, the TV sinks enough to shift the display’s aspect ration from 16:9 to 21:9, eliminating black bars from your view. Pressing it again sinks the TV even further into the base of the box it stands on, leaving the top of it exposed, showing a screen with smart home info, music controls, and ambient updates. Although there’s no price, it appears the prototype introduced a couple of years ago is making progress and may eventually see a public rollout in the near future. Let us know if you’d cop this for the crib someday.
