Google Consolidates Its Payments Services into Google Pay
Google is streamlining its approach to online purchases by merging its payment services — like Google Wallet and Android Pay — into one consolidated entity called Google Pay. For those consumers with a membership to any of Google’s previous payment services, your saved payment information will be available for use anytime you utilize a Google item to make a purchase. Airbnb, Fandango, Dice, HungryHouse, Instacraft and other popular apps already support Google’s latest creation, and many more are planning to get on board with the service in the near future. “With Google Pay, it’ll be easier for you to use the payment information saved to your Google Account, so you can speed through checkout with peace of mind,” reads an official statement. “Bringing everything into one brand is just the first step for Google Pay.” Google has yet to reveal any other specific new features attached to Google Pay, but expect more news to emerge in the coming months.
