“Peaky Blinders” Festival Coming to the UK

It kind of feels like the whole of the UK is obsessed with Peaky Blinders at the minute – we’ve had theme bars, spirit ranges and talk of a film. If all that wasn’t quite enough, there’s now a festival launching later this year and it sounds sick.

Fans have to wait until 2019 until they can see the new series, but can head to the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley to get their fix, if the thought of waiting that long is too much.

Taking place over two weekends in September – 7 to the 8 and 14-15 – the museum is set to bring the Peaky Blinders vibe to life, recreating the look and feel of 1920s Birmingham.

Visitors can head into Tommy’s favourite drinking spot – The Garrison – and enjoy a 1920s-style cocktail or ale. Nice.

There’s also mock-up of Birmingham streets to wander around while you pretend you’re one of the Shelbys, as well as live entertainment and street parties.

A listing for the event reads: “Step inside the murky underworld of the Peaky Blinders as you discover their dark history.

“Dig out your flat caps and take a stroll around the set for the Shelby’s scrap metal business – Charlie’s yard where – where many props used during the filming remain.”

There’s also ‘gun-slinging gang warfare’ going on – sounds like they’ve been paying attention.

If you’re keen tickets go one sale 1 February and cost £17. Buy them, or find out more at www.bclm.co.uk/events/peaky-blinders-night

Of course, if you can’t wait that long, then Liverpool now has its very own Peaky Blinders themed bar. The impressive-looking bar is fully kitted out in 1920s-style and features an amazing cocktail list, with drinks named after characters from the show.

Fancy a Thomas Shelby? A large vodka, Martini Extra Dry and bitters shaken and served with a lemon twist. Or maybe you’re more of a Naughty Ada fan (that’s a concoction of Herradura, passionfruit, basil, lime served with jalapeños)? Well, Peaky Blinders Bar has got you covered. It’s also got a range of ales, if that’s more your thing.
