Conor McGregor Could Face Seven Years in Jail Following UFC 223 Bus Attack

After turning himself into New York City police, Conor McGregor has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of felony criminal mischief for his UFC 223 Bus Attack. Early reports noted that The Notorious was going after lightweight fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov who recently had a run-in with one of his teammates earlier this week.

Released on $50,000 bail following a court hearing, McGregor’s future with the UFC is currently up in air with league sanctions and criminal charges pending. Despite having no criminal record, the Irish fighter could face serious jail time with assault charges holding a maximum jail sentence of one year and the felony charge reaching seven years. Additionally, McGregor will be paying for damages incurred during the attack which led to the cancellation of several fights scheduled to take place at the Barclays Center.
