Venmo Launches Its Own Debit Card

Venmo has released its own debit card, allowing those with accounts to spend their Venmo balance at retail locations and share transactions with friends to split costs evenly. The card works in locations where Mastercard is accepted — a change from the beta version of card, which was a VISA — and the app can be used to manage or disable it. The cards are able to withdraw up to $400 USD in cash, once a day, from MasterCard, Cirrus, MoneyPass and Pulse-friendly ATMs, but comes with a $2.50 USD withdrawal fee unless you’re withdrawing from MoneyPass.

The card is available now under a “limited release,” but if you weren’t one of the beta testers, you’ll have to wait in an online queue to apply.
