JEMELE HILL TO NARRATE LEBRON JAMES’ SHOWTIME SERIES “SHUT UP & DRIBBLE”

JEMELE HILL TO NARRATE LEBRON JAMES’ SHOWTIME SERIES “SHUT UP & DRIBBLE”

A few days ago, Jemele Hill became an ex-employee of ESPN after a 12-year run as a reporter, columnist, analyst and TV personality. She reportedly left with roughly $6 million more in her bank account as a result.

Most believed she would just fade away and never be heard from again, she had other plans, an dit included working closely with LeBron James.

On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Hill would be the narrator for LeBron James’ three-part Showtime documentary Shut Up and Dribble.

“I think LeBron, like a lot of people, has been very frustrated by the behavior of this administration,” Hill tells The Hollywood Reporter. “[Black Americans] feel very insulted and vulnerable within this time because of who’s in charge.”

“Lately LeBron has talked about gender and wanting to uplift and position black women in particular,” says Hill. “I get the sense that this is all part of that. He was raised by a black woman, he is married to a black woman and he is raising a black woman (daughter Zhuri, 3). If you look at the societal ladder, black women remain on the lowest rung. He clearly understands that we are facing a unique battle. It means a lot that he understands the intricacies of that.”

The title of the show comes from a comment Fox News host Laura Ingraham made to James earlier this year when she criticized him for talking politics during an interview on James’ Uninterrupted platform.
